When Pigs Fly...

There have been so many moments recently where I’ve been brought to pause - like a complete standstill. Why? Because I have been in awe of how God has lined up SO many little details to surprise me in the sweetest ways.

Let me share one…

Not long ago, I was in North Carolina visiting my family during a challenging time. I was dealing with the possibility of losing a beloved family member, and conveniently this happened in the midst of a church-wide fast (during which, God was speaking to me—promising to provide, to lead me to the right relationships, to open career opportunities, and so much more). Clearly, my emotions were running high, and there was lot on my mind.

One morning, while sitting in a local coffee shop filled with charming trinkets and cutesy specials (small-town energy for sure), I noticed a cute, pale blue mug covered with little drawn flying pigs. I couldn’t get it out of my mind; it felt like I needed it, even if I didn’t understand why at that moment.

A cute flying pig mug to remind me of the power of God in the face of the things that seem impossible.

Later, after returning to Nashville, I discovered the answer…

I showed the mug to one of my roommates, only for her to drop her jaw and be completely speechless. Concerned, I watched as she dashed upstairs and returned with a pink, sparkly flying pig ornament…

She explained that some time ago, she had found two flying pig ornaments out on a shopping spree. At that moment, she felt the Lord urging her to purchase both—one for herself and one for someone who needed a reminder of God’s ability to provide. The ornaments became a symbol for her: a tangible reminder that God is capable of doing the impossible. Often, we find ourselves praying bold, big prayers for things that seem as unlikely as “when pigs fly.” This ornament reassured her that not only does God do the impossible, He will do the impossible. And, the second pig ornament was to be a reminder for the person who would show her something with a flying pig as well.

I felt led to purchase that mug during a season filled with God-sized revelations, bold prayers of faith, and a whirlwind of emotional and familial challenges. Holding that mug—and later, the ornament—reminded me of God’s goodness and the unique ways He blesses me. It’s a sweet reminder that God cares about the details, every single little one.

How could I have known that He would lead my roommate to buy that ornament at precisely the right moment? How could I have predicted that all these details would align perfectly to remind me that God does the impossible?

The Lord cares—He cares about the details, and He cares about you.

If you needed that reminder today, I pray for you that the Lord would bring clarity and peace to you during this season — and I’d love to be able to share that with you, too.
